He took charge as Managing Director of LIC of India on 1st June 2025. Prior to this, he was Executive Director (Investment- Front Office) & Chief Investment Officer.
He joined LIC of India in September 1990 as Assistant Administrative Officer. He has worked across four Zones of the Corporation in various capacities including 10 years as Branch-In-Charge. He was Chief Manager of Tumluk Branch, the then All India Number One Branch in NOP. During his tenure, the Branch completed a record number of 78359 policies in a financial year and the record is still unbeaten.

During his 22 years in conventional marketing, he was Marketing Manager of Asansol & KMDO-1 Divisions under EZ. He headed Indore and Jamshedpur Divisions as Senior Divisional Manager before taking charge of the Chief Life Insurance Advisor (CLIA) Channel of Eastern Zone at Kolkata as Regional Manager (Marketing CLIA). On promotion to Zonal Manager, he started his tenure in Investment- Front Office in May 2021 as Chief (Investment), Central Office, Mumbai. Thereafter, on promotion to Zonal Manager (Selection), he took charge as Executive Director (Investment- Front Office) & Chief Investment Officer of the Corporation in April 2023.

He is a post graduate in Public Administration and has majors in Physics in graduation. He is a Fellow of Insurance Institute of India and holds a Diploma in Health Insurance from the same Institute. He strongly believes in Team Work and has empathetic people sense. He takes avid interest in sports, movies and meeting people.

Began his journey with LIC of India in 1990 as 18th Batch Direct Recruit Officer. With over three decades of dedicated service, he brings with him more than 20 years of rich and proven experience in the field of investments, backed by a deep understanding of financial markets.

He served in the investment department of LIC for 15 years, where he contributed significantly to portfolio management and strategic investment planning. In his last role as Chief Investment officer of LIC Pension Fund Ltd., he played a pivotal role in driving performance. Most schemes under his leadership outperformed peers. The Asset Under Management (AUM) witnessed a remarkable three-fold increase reaching INR 3.82 lakh crore over a span of five years.

Academically, he hold a degree in Civil Engineering and is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India. His Commitment to continuous learning is reflected in his active participation in numerous seminars and workshops on financial markets both in India and abroad. Beyond his professional life, he is an avid reader with a passion for music and travel.

He joined LIC of India as Direct Recruit and in his work experience of more than three decades he has worked across diverse locations in the country. The vast geographical exposure has endowed him with a profound understanding of regional dynamics, market nuances and evolving customer sentiments.

He was the former Head of Corporate Finance Group at DSP Financial Consultants. He also worked at Bank of America, in the capacities of Head of Capital Markets India and Vice President of Private Banking in London. He has also been a former member of the Apex Executive Committee at DSP Merrill Lynch.

He brings with him rich experience of working in Banking and Finance Industries for more than three decades. He worked with ICICI Group for more than two decades and in Rural & Inclusive Banking Group, Future Capital Holdings Ltd., Bank Muscat SAOG, Standard Charted Bank India and Citibank N.A. India.

He joined LIC of India in 1985, and worked for more than 34 years in various capacities in Marketing, Finance, Risk Management and Investment; retiring in 2019 as Executive Director (Investments-Operations). He has exposure to LIC investment operations and important portfolios like Equity, Debt, Treasury, Pension, Group Schemes and ULIP. He was a Board member of listed Companies like Excel Industries Limited and Ambuja Cement Limited.
